Filtering Data

Filtering Data Hi there and welcome to a video series on some of the intermediate features of integramatte my name is matosh and in this video i'll walk you through using filters.

With filters you can define what data should be going where in your workflow or you can stop specific types of data from going to other apps if that's what you want to do.

Now let's take a look at a quick example this workflow is looking for new emails and then sending messages to slack giving me the most important updates but i only want to hear about the really.

Important emails and that's exactly where filters come in so as everything in our user interface even filters our visual and that means we'll be placing them here in between the two modules.

So to add a filter i can either click this wrench icon here and select set up a filter or i can click the line that's connecting the two modules i can also give a label to my filter.

In this case i'll be looking for the sender email address and only allowing emails from specific senders so i can call this filter the sender filter as for the condition let's start.

Filtering Data

By clicking the field here now we can use the email data specifically i'll be looking for the sender email address now next let's select contains here and.

Type in userflow.com this is the email domain of a tool that i use every day and so if i get an email from them i want to hear about it because it's probably going to.

Be important okay now let's test the setup by clicking the run once button it should grab two emails but only one of those emails should be allowed.

Through the filter i can see number one next to the filter icon here and that's telling me that only one item was allowed through the filter i can also click this to expand and see more.

Details you can see that the first email was a lot through it was from the correct email domain and then the second one was not allowed.

Through the filter because it was from a different email domain okay that's it for this video we've covered the basics of filters and i'll see you in the next one.
